Top 10 Reasons to Go Solar in Arizona

Arizona Has the Most Powerful Solar Footprint in America

As you can see, Arizona offers a very large vein of solar energy that can be used to power utility grade solar energy power plants, which will attract billions of dollars in investment capital, provide a boom to Arizona's economic development, and generate thousands and thousands of construction and permanent jobs.

If you are new to Arizona you will learn three things very quickly:

  1. The sun's power is very strong and shines more than 300 days a year
  2. It requires a lot of electricity to keep your home cool during the summer
  3. Harnessing the sun's energy to generate free, clean electricity is just good common sense

Most people don't know it, but all of Arizona's regulated utility companies have been mandated by the Arizona Corporation Commission to spend more than $185 million to subsidize energy efficiency projects and renewable energy (solar power) programs in 2009, and more than $1.2 billion through 2025. Available to every home/business in Arizona, these incentive programs are designed to make it as affordable as possible to make buildings as energy efficient as possible, and then install solar systems to heat water for free and spin electricity meters backward when producing more electricity than used.

Top 10 reasons to install energy efficient and solar products:
  1. Incentives pay for a large portion of of solar water heater equipment and installation costs
  2. Installing either of these systems will reduce typical electricity bills by up to 20% each or 40% together
  3. Installing either of these systems significantly increases the property value of your home. And, even though the property value goes up, the solar power system's value cannot be taxed
  4. If customers invest $10,000 of their own money, they will significantly reduce their electricity bills
  5. Rolling $10,000 into a typical 360-month mortgage would add less than $30 to a monthly payment
  6. Arizona's net metering rules allows you to sell 125% of excess electricity back to the utilities
  7. Each solar power installation creates jobs for at least 10 categories of workers in sales, engineering, marketing, construction, electrical contractors, etc. who need jobs
  8. Solar power significantly reduces carbon emissions generated by power plants
  9. Solar power is a great bullet point for Green Home Buyers when determining resale value
  10. Solar power is the best way to avoid rising electricity prices, which typically go up 3-10% per year. Even with only a 3% percent increase per year, utility bills will double by 2035. Why not freeze your rates for the next 25 years??
